Initial unused design for Demob Happy's 2021 Tour Poster. The client wanted an optimistic and playful poster with themes relating to the release from lockdown that this tour would be a part of. A knocked down wall leading to a futuristic utopia - which I stuck to (perhaps too closely). We ended up keeping the spirit and theme of this design, but shifting the style of the design into the psychedelia that's present in some of my earlier designs.
First sketch. I wouldn't usually annotate my sketches, but I was trying to squeeze in as much detail that related and enforced the themes from the brief. Including some tongue-in-cheek additions which I ended up leaving on the cutting room floor.
